Switch Between Performance Modes While Playing
Access the Mode Button
You can change performance profiles without restarting the game. Open your in-game menu and navigate to Options, then select Video Settings.
Change Your Active Profile
Look for the Mode button in the top-right corner of the Video Settings screen. Click it to cycle through the three available profiles:
- Super Fast: Maximum performance. Enables vertical culling to stop loading caves and blocks beneath you. Best for older computers or when you need the highest frame rate.
- Balanced: Moderate performance boost. Uses smart entity culling to stop processing distant creatures and items hidden behind walls. Good balance between visuals and speed.
- Vanilla: Disables all optimizations. The game runs with standard Minecraft behavior.

Your frame rate will change as soon as you select a new mode. You can switch profiles mid-gameplay to find the best balance for your current situation. If you're exploring and experience lag, try Super Fast. When you want better visuals, switch to Balanced or Vanilla.
Check your debug screen (F3) to monitor your FPS and confirm the mode is working as expected.
