Lagless FPS Optimizer Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Where do I find the performance mode button?
Open Options from the pause menu, then click Video Settings. The Mode button is in the top-right corner of the video settings screen. Click it to cycle between Super Fast, Balanced, and Vanilla modes.
What's the difference between Super Fast and Balanced mode?
Super Fast uses vertical culling to stop loading caves and blocks beneath you, giving maximum performance for older computers. Balanced mode uses smart entity culling to skip processing distant mobs and items, offering a middle ground between speed and visibility.
Why am I getting random freezes even with this mod?
The Auto-RAM Cleaner runs every five minutes to clear unused memory. If freezes still happen, try switching to Super Fast mode or closing other programs running in the background.
Can I see particles like rain and explosions with this mod?
Yes, the Particle Optimization feature keeps rain, explosions, and redstone dust visible while changing how they load to prevent lag spikes. Far particles beyond your view distance are removed to save performance.
Does this mod work in caves and underground?
Yes, Super Fast mode includes vertical culling that stops loading deep caves and blocks under your feet, which significantly improves FPS in underground areas. The smart fog system hides empty spaces to maintain visibility.
Will switching modes affect my world or settings?
No, switching between modes only changes how the game processes graphics and calculations. Your world, inventory, and other settings remain unchanged.
What happens to mobs and items far away?
In Balanced mode, smart entity culling stops processing creatures and items that are far away or hidden behind walls. They still exist in your world but won't drain performance until you get closer.
Can I use this mod with other performance mods?
This mod is designed to work independently and handles its own culling and memory management. Using multiple performance mods together may cause conflicts or unpredictable behavior.
Why is my render distance still affecting my FPS?
The mod reduces render distance for mobs and visual effects in half during Aggressive Culling, but your actual render distance setting still controls how far blocks load. Lowering your render distance manually will provide additional FPS gains.
Should I use Super Fast or Balanced for my old computer?
Start with Super Fast mode for the best performance on older computers. If you notice missing blocks or caves that you need to see, switch to Balanced mode for a better balance between speed and visibility.
