Kumo Desu Ascension FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

What starting form should I pick?
Your starting form affects your early game difficulty and available skills—spider is weakest but teaches you survival fundamentals, human offers balanced stats, goblin provides early magic access, and wyrm starts powerful but with fewer evolution options. Choose based on whether you want a challenge or a smoother introduction to the mod's mechanics.
How do I level up skills faster?
Skills only increase in proficiency when you actively use them in combat, so repeatedly cast spells or perform attacks you want to strengthen rather than relying on passive leveling. The more you use a skill, the faster it ranks up, so focus your fighting style on abilities you want to master.
Why can't I see enemy health bars?
Your Appraisal skill starts very weak and hides enemy information from you—as you level Appraisal through combat encounters, enemy health bars, stats, and weaknesses will gradually become visible. This is intentional and forces you to learn enemy patterns before gaining full information.
What happens when I reach my level cap?
Once you hit your level cap, you unlock the ability to evolve into a new form, which resets your level but grants permanent stat boosts and access to new skills. Plan your evolution carefully since your character model changes permanently and some evolution paths lock you out of others.
How do I manage my stats and skill points?
Open your custom RPG stat screen to view your health, mana, stamina, and speed, then allocate skill points to increase them or unlock new abilities. You can also track which skills you've trained and their current proficiency levels from this menu.
What are titles and how do I get them?
Titles are special achievements you unlock by reaching specific milestones in combat, exploration, or evolution, and each title grants permanent stat buffs or ability bonuses. Check your achievements regularly to see which titles you're close to earning.
Why do Elroe Randanels spawn in packs and how do I survive them?
Randanels are pack hunters designed to overwhelm you through numbers, so avoid fighting multiple at once early on by kiting them or using terrain to separate them. As you level up and gain better skills, you'll be able to handle larger groups.
Can I fight the giant Elroe Frogs early on?
Giant Elroe Frogs are significantly stronger than basic enemies and their acid attacks deal heavy damage, so you should avoid them until you've leveled up and trained defensive skills. Use your Appraisal skill to gauge their stats before engaging.
Do I need to specialize in one skill type or can I mix magic and combat?
You can mix magic and combat skills, but spreading yourself thin means slower proficiency growth in each skill—consider focusing on a primary playstyle while adding one or two complementary abilities. Your evolution path may also favor certain skill types, so plan ahead.
What should I do if I'm stuck and keep dying?
Focus on leveling your basic stats and Appraisal skill by fighting weaker enemies, use terrain and kiting to avoid taking damage, and make sure you're training skills that suit your current evolution form. If you're still struggling, you may have chosen an evolution path that doesn't match your playstyle—plan your next evolution more carefully.
