KubeJS Create Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I start writing Create recipes in KubeJS?
Create a server script in your KubeJS scripts folder and use the event.recipes.create namespace, for example event.recipes.create.crushing(output, input). Each Create recipe type has its own method name that matches the machine it belongs to.
What's the difference between Create mixing and Create compacting in KubeJS?
Mixing is for the Mechanical Mixer over a Basin and Compacting is for the Mechanical Press over a Basin. Both accept .heated() and .superheated() to require heat from a blaze burner below the basin.
How do I make a recipe require a heated or superheated basin?
Chain .heated() or .superheated() onto your mixing or compacting recipe call. Heated needs a normally fueled blaze burner and superheated needs one fed with a blaze cake.
Why isn't my Create recipe showing up in JEI?
Most likely the script errored or the recipe ID collided with an existing one. Check the KubeJS log for errors, reload with /reload, and make sure your output item ID is spelled exactly right.
How do I add a crushing recipe that outputs multiple different items?
Pass an array of outputs to the crushing call, and use the chanced output helper if you want some results to only drop a percentage of the time. The first entry is usually the guaranteed drop.
Can I remove or override a vanilla Create recipe with KubeJS?
Yes, use event.remove with the recipe's ID or its output filter before adding your replacement. Removing by output is easier when you don't know the exact recipe ID.
What's the difference between splashing and bulk washing?
They're the same thing — Create's Bulk Washing is registered under the splashing recipe type in KubeJS. Use event.recipes.create.splashing for recipes processed by fans blowing through water.
How do I add a deploying recipe that uses a specific item on the deployer?
Use event.recipes.create.deploying with the output, the input on the belt or depot, and the item held by the Deployer as the second input. The deployer must be given that exact item to trigger the recipe.
Do KubeJS Create recipes work on a server without the mod on clients?
No — KubeJS Create is required on both server and client because clients need it to render and process Create's recipe types. Everyone connecting must have it installed.
Will adding lots of KubeJS Create recipes hurt performance?
Recipe count itself is rarely the bottleneck; the bigger cost is running many Create machines at once. Keep scripts clean and avoid huge chanced-output arrays if you notice reload slowdowns.
