Troubleshooting KubeJS Ars Nouveau Recipes That Won't Load
Custom Ars Nouveau recipes often fail silently, leaving you staring at an apparatus that does nothing. Here is how to track down the usual culprits.
Check the Script First
Open the server log and search for KubeJS errors. A single mistyped item ID, a missing comma, or an unclosed bracket will abort the entire recipe registration. KubeJS usually prints the offending line — fix it and run /reload again. Remember that recipe scripts belong in the server scripts folder, not the client one.
Verify Ingredients and IDs
- Confirm every item and block ID actually exists in your modpack. Use tab-completion in commands or check the item in-game to copy its exact ID.
- Enchantment IDs and output items must be registered; a typo here breaks the recipe without an obvious message.
- Numeric values like source cost must be positive numbers, not strings.
Test in a Clean Setup
If the recipe still refuses to appear, temporarily strip it down to a single input and a simple output. If that works, add complexity back piece by piece. This isolates whether the problem is the loot table format, the NBT flag, or an input entry. Finally, confirm the recipe type matches the station you are using — an enchanting apparatus recipe will not show up on a crush setup, and vice versa.
