How to Apply a Custom Enchantment with the Ars Nouveau Enchantment Recipe
Ars Nouveau's enchantment recipe type lets the Enchanting Apparatus apply an enchantment to an item, similar to an anvil but driven by source and pedestal inputs.
Setting Up the Recipe
Use event.recipes.ars_nouveau.enchantment(inputs, enchantment, level, sourceCost). The inputs array holds the pedestal items — these are the ingredients consumed. The enchantment argument is the enchantment ID you want applied, such as a vanilla enchantment or one from another mod. level is the enchantment level granted, and sourceCost is how much source the apparatus drains.
What to Watch For
- The item being enchanted is placed on the apparatus as the reagent, not listed in the inputs.
- Enchantment IDs must be valid and registered; an unknown ID will cause the recipe to fail to load.
- Level values above the vanilla maximum are allowed if the enchantment supports them, but some enchantments clamp their own level.
- Combine this with NBT-keeping behavior if you want the enchanted item to retain its prior data.
Save the script, run /reload, then place your target item on the apparatus, arrange the pedestal inputs, and supply source. The enchantment should apply once the recipe completes.
