Ksyxis Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn Ksyxis on or off?
Ksyxis works automatically once installed and has no in-game toggle or config screen. To disable it, remove the mod from your mods folder; to re-enable it, put it back. There is no keybind or menu option to switch it per-world.
Does Ksyxis break my spawn chunk farm?
Yes, by default it removes the always-loaded spawn chunks, so any farm or redstone built there stops running when you leave the area. Move the farm into a chunk loader, or keep a player nearby, if you need it to run continuously.
Why is my spawn area empty or missing blocks after installing Ksyxis?
Ksyxis stops the spawn chunks from being force-loaded, so terrain there may not generate or tick until you actually walk into it. Travel to the area and let it load normally, or temporarily remove the mod if you need the spawn region generated first.
Will Ksyxis corrupt my existing world?
No, it does not modify world data; it only changes which chunks stay loaded. You can add or remove it on an existing world safely, though the spawn chunks will behave differently depending on whether it is installed.
How do I know if Ksyxis is actually helping my performance?
Compare world load times and memory usage with and without the mod on the same world, using the F3 debug screen or a profiler. The difference is most noticeable on lower-spec machines and large modpacks, and may be negligible on high-end PCs.
Does Ksyxis work on servers?
Ksyxis is designed for the client and singleplayer, and installing it on a server is not its intended use. On a server, the server controls spawn chunk loading, so the mod will not change that behavior for connected players.
Is Ksyxis compatible with other performance mods like Sodium or OptiFine?
Ksyxis only affects spawn chunk loading, so it generally coexists with rendering and optimization mods. Conflicts are rare, but if you see odd chunk behavior, test with only Ksyxis enabled to isolate the cause.
Why do my redstone contraptions at spawn stop working after installing Ksyxis?
Redstone only ticks in loaded chunks, and Ksyxis removes the always-loaded spawn chunks. Move the contraption to a chunk that stays loaded, add a chunk loader, or keep a player in the area.
Can I keep the spawn chunks loaded while still using Ksyxis?
Not through Ksyxis itself, since its whole purpose is to stop spawn chunks from loading. Use a separate chunk-loading mod or a vanilla chunk loader if you need specific chunks to stay active.
Does Ksyxis change how fast my world loads?
Yes, it speeds up loading by skipping the spawn chunks that vanilla would otherwise load. The improvement is largest on worlds with many mods or on slower hardware, and smaller on fast machines.
