How to Install Krypton Mod and Verify It Is Actually Working

Installing the Mod

Krypton is a server-side and client-side optimization mod, so it belongs in your mods folder alongside Fabric API (or the equivalent loader dependency it requires). Drop the Krypton .jar into the mods directory of your client or server. If you run a dedicated server, install it there too — most of Krypton's benefit comes from the server side, where the entity tracker and Netty handlers live.

Confirming It Loaded

Start the game or server and watch the log output. Krypton prints a startup line identifying itself during mod initialization. If you see it, the mod is active. You can also open the mod list on the client and look for Krypton in the list of loaded mods.

Confirming It Is Doing Something

Krypton does not add commands or config screens, so there is no in-game toggle to check. Instead, judge it by behavior: with many players online, tick times should be lower and the server should handle packet bursts (lots of entities moving, many players in one area) more smoothly. If your host already runs a proxy like Velocity, Krypton's handlers complement it rather than conflict. If the server fails to start after adding it, remove other networking mods one at a time to find the conflict.
