Konkrete Mod FAQ

16 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I use Konkrete?
You don't use it directly — it's a library that runs in the background and provides shared code for mods that depend on it. Just install it alongside those mods and play normally; there's nothing to configure or interact with in-game.
Why does Konkrete show up in my mods list but do nothing?
That's expected behavior — Konkrete has no items, blocks, or gameplay features of its own. Its only job is to give other mods a common foundation, so an empty-looking mod is a working mod.
Do I need Konkrete installed to play?
Only if you have another mod that lists Konkrete as a dependency. If nothing you've installed requires it, you can safely remove it without affecting your game.
Which mods need Konkrete?
Mods made by the same developer that share Konkrete as a common library will require it. Check each mod's dependencies on its download page — if Konkrete is listed, you need it.
Can I remove Konkrete if I don't know what's using it?
Try removing it and launching the game — if a dependent mod is still installed, you'll get a clear missing-dependency error naming that mod. If the game starts fine, nothing needed it.
Will Konkrete slow down my game or hurt performance?
As a lightweight library, Konkrete itself adds negligible overhead. Any performance impact you notice is almost always coming from the mods that depend on it, not Konkrete.
Does Konkrete work on Fabric or only Forge?
Konkrete is built for Forge, so it won't load on a Fabric-only setup. If you're mixing loaders, make sure the dependent mods and Konkrete are all on the same loader.
Why does my game crash saying Konkrete is missing or the wrong version?
A dependent mod is asking for a Konkrete version it can't find, usually because Konkrete is absent, outdated, or too new. Match the Konkrete version to what the dependent mod expects and relaunch.
Can I update Konkrete without breaking my other mods?
Usually yes, but a major Konkrete update can break mods built against an older version. Back up your instance, update Konkrete, and test — if something breaks, revert to the previous version.
Is it safe to put Konkrete in a modpack?
Yes — it's a standard library dependency and is meant to be bundled in packs. Just make sure the version you ship matches what the dependent mods in the pack require.
What is the Konkrete Mod?
It is a Forge-based library mod that serves as a base for other mods. It does nothing on its own.
Does the Konkrete Mod add any content by itself?
No, it does not add anything on its own. Its only purpose is to act as a foundation for other mods.
What mod loader does the Konkrete Mod require?
It is a Forge-based mod. It is designed to run on Forge.
Why would someone install the Konkrete Mod?
It is installed because other mods depend on it as a base. Without it, those mods may not work.
Is the Konkrete Mod useful on its own?
No, it has no standalone function. It only matters as a library for mods built on top of it.
What kind of mod is the Konkrete Mod?
It is a library mod. Library mods provide shared code that other mods rely on.
