Separate Connected Logs for Building

Break Logs Apart with a Pickaxe

When you harvest wood from a living tree or want to use logs as individual building blocks, you need to separate them so they don't display as connected trunks.

Steps

1. Equip a Pickaxe

2. Hit each log you want to separate

3. The logs will break apart and lose their connected wood ring appearance

4. Each block now acts as an independent piece for construction

Why This Matters

Logs taken from living trees initially display as one connected trunk with flowing wood rings. If you're building a house or structure, this connected look won't match your design. By hitting them with a pickaxe, you convert them into standard building blocks that stay visually separate from each other, giving you full control over how your construction looks.

Placed logs in your builds will never connect to each other—only natural forest trees with leaves still attached will show the living tree effect.
