Reduce Lag from Dynamic Lighting Updates

Increase Update Intervals

Dynamic lighting recalculates frequently by default. To reduce performance impact, increase updateInterval (for contraption lighting) and worldUpdateInterval (for world light reflecting onto builds). Both values are in milliseconds—higher numbers mean less frequent updates.

Lower Luminance Multiplier

Brighter lighting requires more calculation. Reduce luminanceMultiplier from its default to decrease the overall brightness and computational cost. Values below 1.0 dim the effect; you can go up to 2.0 for maximum brightness.

Disable Unnecessary Features

If you don't use Sable sub-levels, set enableSubLevelDynamicLight to false. Similarly, disable enableContraptionDynamicLight if you only want world light to affect your builds, not the reverse.

Switch to Server Light Blocks Mode

If running a server, enable server-side light blocks instead of client-side rendering. This offloads calculation to the server and ensures all players see consistent lighting without requiring the mod client-side.
