Kawa Mood’s Waystones Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
What do I need to craft a waystone?
You need a Lodestone, Amethyst Shards, an Eye of Ender, and a base block (like Stone Bricks, Nether Bricks, Copper, Mossy Stone Bricks, Prismarine Bricks, or Quartz). Combine these in a crafting table to create the waystone item.
How do I name my waystone locations?
Rename the waystone item in an anvil before you place it on the ground. Whatever name you give it will appear in the travel menu for all connected waystones.
Can I use custom player heads as waystone decorations?
Yes. Place any custom player head on top of the waystone base block before placing the waystone, and that head will become the icon shown in your travel menu.
Do my pets and vehicles teleport with me?
Yes. Any mobs you're holding on a leash and vehicles like horses or boats will teleport along with you to your destination.
How do I let my friends use my private waystones?
Write a book with your friends' names listed in it, then place the book into the menu slot when you right-click your waystone. They'll then have access to that location.
What's the difference between private, public, and hidden waystones?
Private waystones only you can see and use. Public waystones appear in everyone's menu. Hidden waystones don't show up until another player finds and clicks them in the world.
Can I stop other players from destroying my waystones with explosions?
Yes. Use the protection toggle in the waystone menu to prevent creepers and TNT from damaging your travel points.
How do I give another player permission to edit all waystones on my server?
Use the command `/tag add pk.waystones.manager` to give them the manager role. They can then edit any waystone location.
Can I change how much XP it costs to teleport?
Yes. Use `/function pk_waystones:settings/xp_consumption/set {value: , mode: }` to adjust the cost, or `/function pk_waystones:settings/xp_consumption/get` to see your current settings.
Do waystones work in the Nether and End?
Yes. Waystones work in all dimensions, so you can set up fast travel networks in the Nether, End, and Overworld.
