Katters Structures Village Data Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I find villages in this mod?
Villages spawn naturally across different biomes as you explore—look for Ocean Villages on water, Cherry Villages in cherry groves, Sky Villages on floating islands, Underground Villages in deep caves, Swamp Villages over shallow water, Mesa Villages in badlands, and forest villages in birch and jungle biomes. You can also find small Trader Outposts scattered across wilderness areas. Travel to biomes you haven't visited yet to discover new settlements.
Where do I get the custom enchantments?
Custom enchantments like Blunt, Heavy, Light, and Curse of Crystal are found as loot inside village chests throughout settlements. Search multiple chests in different villages to collect various enchanted weapons, as not every chest contains enchantments.
What's the difference between Heavy and Light enchantments?
Heavy increases your strike damage but lowers attack speed and movement agility, making you slower but harder-hitting. Light does the opposite—it increases your agility and movement speed but reduces your total armor defense, making you faster but more vulnerable.
Should I use Curse of Crystal?
Curse of Crystal gives massive damage bonuses but causes your weapon to degrade rapidly, so you'll need to repair or replace it frequently. Use it only if you have access to weapon repair or don't mind replacing weapons often in exchange for high damage output.
What are the story books for?
Story books are collectible lore items written from the perspective of local villagers that scatter throughout village chest loot. They add narrative flavor to the mod and can be collected as you explore different settlements, but they don't provide gameplay benefits.
Can I use this with other mods?
Yes, the mod is built entirely from vanilla blocks and includes support for popular world generation and creature mods. However, check compatibility with any mods that heavily modify village generation or terrain to avoid conflicts.
Do I need a resource pack to see the villages properly?
No, all structures use only standard vanilla blocks, so you don't need any resource pack to see or interact with villages. They'll look fine with the default Minecraft textures.
How do I access the operator menu?
Open your chat box and run the command `/function kattersstructures` if you have admin rights—this opens the operator menu where you can spawn special items or adjust world settings.
Can I find villages in the Nether or End?
Villages only spawn in the Overworld across specific biomes like oceans, cherry groves, swamps, mesas, forests, and underground caves. They do not generate in the Nether or End dimensions.
Why am I not finding any villages?
Make sure you're exploring diverse biomes—villages spawn in specific terrain types, so traveling only through plains or deserts won't help. Also check underground and in the sky, as some village types only appear in those locations. If you've explored thoroughly and still find nothing, verify the mod is properly installed.
