Katamari Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn into a katamari ball?
Use the command `/katamari ball @s true` to enable ball mode for yourself. Once active, you'll transform into a rolling sphere and can move around to start collecting blocks.
Why aren't blocks sticking to my ball?
Make sure ball mode is actually enabled with `/katamari ball @s true`. Also check that you're rolling directly over blocks on the ground—blocks need to be in your path as you move for them to stick.
Can I make my ball bigger or smaller?
Yes, use `/katamari size @s ` to set a custom size between 0.01 and 20.0. You can also let it grow naturally by rolling over more blocks, or check your current size with `/katamari size @s` (no value).
How do I make my ball bouncier?
Use `/katamari restitution @s ` with a number between 0.01 and 1.2 to control bounciness—higher values make it bounce more. Check your current bounciness with `/katamari restitution @s` (no value).
My ball is stuck with blocks I don't want. How do I clear it?
Run `/katamari resetBlocks @s` to instantly remove all attached blocks and reset your ball to its default size.
Can multiple players use ball mode at the same time?
Yes, each player can have their own ball. Use `/katamari ball true` to enable it for specific players, or target multiple players at once.
Do I need operator permissions to use katamari commands?
Yes, you need operator level 2 or higher to run any katamari commands. Players without operator status cannot use `/katamari` commands.
What happens to my ball when I turn ball mode off?
Turning off ball mode with `/katamari ball @s false` will deactivate the sphere, but your collected blocks remain attached until you use `/katamari resetBlocks` to clear them.
Can I pick up specific types of blocks or are all blocks fair game?
The mod picks up blocks as you roll over them—the wiki doesn't specify block restrictions, so test with different block types in your world to see what gets absorbed.
Does the katamari ball affect my movement speed or controls?
Your normal movement controls still work while in ball mode, but your speed and handling depend on the ball's current size and bounciness settings, which you can adjust with commands.
