Explore Caves Without Losing Your Mind
Light Management is Critical
Caves are where the shader's fear effects peak. Bring more torches than you think you'll need—the heavy 3D fog reduces visibility significantly, and the glowing eyes that appear on walls are pure psychological pressure. Place torches in a deliberate pattern so you can retrace your steps.
Recognize Hallucinations
The longer you stay in darkness, the more your screen warps and distorts. This is a warning sign to retreat to lit areas. Don't push deeper into unlit sections—the fear effects compound. If you see glowing eyes or shadowy figures, they will vanish as you approach, but the visual distortion persists.
Safe Exploration Technique
Explore caves during the day (in-game time) when you're mentally prepared. Work in short sessions rather than extended underground expeditions. Mark your route with torches and always maintain a clear path back to the surface. If the screen warping becomes too intense, exit the cave and return when you've recovered.
