Just Player Heads Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get a player head with this mod?
Use the /jph command followed by the player's name, for example /jph Notch. You can optionally add an amount after the name, otherwise you get one head.
What is the /jph command and how does it work?
/jph generates a player head from a player name by looking up that player's skin data. Capitalisation in the name doesn't matter, and the amount argument is optional.
Do player heads drop automatically when a player dies?
Yes, the mod can drop a player's head on their death event, so you can collect heads without running any command. This behaviour is configurable.
How do I turn off automatic head drops on death?
Open the mod's config file and disable the death-event head drop option. After that, heads will only appear when you use /jph.
Why won't my player head generate when I use /jph?
The mod has to request the player's profile and skin from the Mojang API, so it can fail if the name is misspelled, the player doesn't exist, or the API is rate-limiting you. Wait a moment and try again, and double-check the spelling.
Does this mod cause lag like other player head mods?
No, it stores texture data directly on the head instead of resolving skins from player names at runtime, which is what usually causes lag. Heads are generated lag-free.
Can I keep my player heads if I remove the mod?
Yes, the mod adds no custom blocks or items, so previously collected heads stay in your world as normal vanilla player heads. You just lose the /jph command and death drops.
How do I place a player head as decoration or a trophy?
Place the head like any vanilla skull block, on top of a block or against a wall. You can rotate it by placing it from different directions to face the way you want.
Can I get a head for my own skin or an offline player?
The mod resolves skins through the Mojang API using the player's UUID and profile, so it needs a valid online account name. Names that don't resolve to a profile won't produce a head.
Is this mod compatible with other head or decoration mods?
Because it uses vanilla head blocks and texture data, it generally works alongside other mods without conflicts. If another mod also handles death drops or the /jph command, check your configs so they don't overlap.
