Why Held Torches Look Different

Just Fancy Torches changes the torch model so it renders with a custom shape and animated flame when it is in your hand, rather than the flat vanilla sprite. This is a resource pack feature, so nothing needs to be crafted or configured — the change applies automatically once the pack is active.

Steps to See the Held Model

1. Make sure the resource pack is enabled in Options > Resource Packs and sits above any other pack that also edits torch models.

2. Craft or obtain a regular torch and place it in your hotbar.

3. Select the torch so it is your active held item and switch to first-person view.

4. Look at the torch in the lower-right of your screen — you should see the updated 3D model with the animated flame texture.

5. Switch to third-person view (F5) to confirm the model also renders correctly on your character's hand.

If It Still Looks Vanilla

Another resource pack is likely overriding the torch model. Drag Just Fancy Torches to the top of the pack list and reload. If you use a mod that replaces torch rendering entirely, that mod will take priority over the resource pack.
