Just Fancy Torches Resource Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make the torches actually look fancy in game?
Just enable the resource pack in your pack list and make sure it sits above any other pack that also changes torch models or textures. If torches still look vanilla, another pack is overriding it.
Why do my torches look like plain vanilla torches?
A pack loaded above Just Fancy Torches is replacing the torch files, or the pack isn't actually applied. Move Just Fancy Torches to the top of your selected packs and reload with F3+T.
How do I get the animated flame to work?
The animated flame is part of the pack's textures, so it plays automatically once the pack is active. If it's frozen, another pack is overriding the torch texture or your video settings have animations disabled.
Do the torches look different when I hold them?
Yes, the pack changes the held torch model so it looks like a proper torch in your hand instead of the flat vanilla sprite. This works in first person and shows on other players in
third person.
third person. Can I use this with other resource packs?
Yes, but load order matters. Put Just Fancy Torches above any pack that touches torch models or textures, otherwise the other pack wins and you lose the fancy look.
Does this work with soul torches and redstone torches?
The pack covers all torch variants, including soul torches and redstone torches, so they get the same updated models and animated textures. If one variant looks vanilla, a conflicting pack is overriding just that file.
Will this mod hurt my fps?
It's a resource pack, so impact is minimal, but animated textures and higher-detail models can cost a little performance on very low-end machines. If you notice stutter, check whether another pack is stacking extra animations on top.
Why are my torches invisible or showing a missing texture?
This usually means a pack conflict or a corrupted pack file. Remove other torch-altering packs, then reload with F3+T; if it persists, re-download the pack.
Does this work on servers and with other players?
Yes, resource packs are client-side, so you'll see fancy torches on any server you join. Other players only see them if they also have the pack installed.
Do I need any other mods for this to work?
No, it's a standalone resource pack and doesn't require any mod loader or dependencies. Just apply it and the torches change.
