Fixing Just Expressions Not Showing on Your Player
First Checks
Most "it doesn't work" reports come down to three things: the pack is disabled, another pack overrides it, or the player is being viewed in first person. Confirm the pack is enabled and applied, then press F5 twice to reach third-person front view so you can see your own face.
Common Causes and Fixes
- Another pack overrides the player model. Drag Just Expressions to the very top of the selected packs list. Packs lower down lose conflicts.
- Pack format mismatch. If the pack was built for a different game version, the game may silently ignore its model files. Check the pack's compatibility and use a build matching your version.
- Custom skin with painted-on eyes. The pack animates the eye region of the default player texture layout. If your skin fills that area with a solid colour, motion is hidden. Try a skin with a normal eye layout to test.
- OptiFine or model-changing mods. Some mods replace the player model entirely, bypassing resource pack eye files. Temporarily disable them to test.
Reload Properly
After every change, use F3 + T rather than just closing the menu. If it still fails, test with only Just Expressions enabled to rule out every conflict at once.
