Just Expressions Resource Pack FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get the eye expressions to show up on my player?
Make sure Just Expressions is enabled in your resource pack list and placed above any pack that also edits the player model or textures. The eyes only animate when the pack is actually active, so check the pack is not greyed out or overridden.
Does Just Expressions need OptiFine or a specific mod to work?
It relies on the same entity model features that Fresh Animations uses, so you need a client that supports those animations, such as OptiFine or an equivalent mod. Without that support the eyes will stay static.
Why are my player's eyes not blinking or moving?
The most common cause is another resource pack loading after Just Expressions and overwriting the player model files. Move Just Expressions to the top of your pack list and reload with F3+T.
Can I use Just Expressions together with Fresh Animations?
Yes, they are designed to work together, but load order matters. Put Just Expressions above Fresh Animations so its player eye changes are not overwritten by the mob animation pack.
Do the eye expressions work on other players in multiplayer?
They only appear on players whose client is running the pack, so you will see expressions on yourself and on others who also have it enabled. Players without the pack will see normal static eyes.
Will Just Expressions work on a server?
It is a client-side resource pack, so it does not need to be installed on the server. Just enable it in your own client and it will work on any server that allows resource packs.
Does Just Expressions affect mobs or only the player?
It focuses on the player model's eyes, adding emotional eye movement to your avatar. For mob expressions you would use Fresh Animations, which this pack is meant to complement.
Why do the eyes look wrong or glitchy on my skin?
This usually happens when your skin's eye area does not match the layout the pack expects, or when another pack edits the same texture. Try a default-style skin or remove conflicting packs to test.
Does Just Expressions hurt performance?
It only changes player eye animations, so the performance impact is minimal compared to full mob animation packs. If you notice lag, check other packs first before blaming this one.
How do I turn the eye expressions off without removing the pack?
You can disable Just Expressions in your resource pack menu and reload, or move it below another pack that overrides the player model. There is no in-game toggle, so pack order is how you control it.
