How to Open the Effects Category in JEI and Browse Status Effects

Opening the Effects Page

There are two ways to reach the Just Enough Effect Descriptions page. The first is from the JEI item overlay: while hovering over any item, look for the small status effect icons that appear on the JEI screen, then click one of them. The second is from your own inventory: look at the box that lists your currently active effects, and click any active effect icon there. Either action opens the Effects recipe category.

Once open, you'll see a grid of every status effect registered in your game, including effects from other mods. Use the JEI search bar to filter by name, and use the page arrows or scroll to move through the list. Clicking an effect opens its detail view.

Reading an Effect's Detail Page

On the detail page you can see the effect's icon, name, its color, and which mod it comes from. If the effect has a description registered, it appears here as text. You'll also see a list of items that can provide the effect — for example, foods and potions the mod detected automatically. Hover an item to see its own JEI info, or click it to jump to that item's page. If an effect shows no description, it simply means the mod author hasn't added one yet; the effect still works normally in game.
