Switching to Daqian Keyboard for Phonetic Input

What the Daqian Option Does

By default the mod matches Pinyin spellings. If you prefer a phonetic keyboard layout — specifically the Daqian (大千) layout used by some Chinese input methods — the mod can interpret your keystrokes that way instead. This changes which keys map to which sounds, so it is only useful if you already type with Daqian.

Changing the Setting

Open the mod's config file in a text editor. Locate the keyboard or input-method setting and change it from the default to Daqian. Save the file and restart Minecraft.

After restarting, open JEI or the creative search and type a test query using Daqian key positions. If the expected items appear, the layout is active. If nothing matches, you likely typed the Pinyin positions by habit — switch back to the default setting and restart again.

Keep in mind this only affects how the mod reads your keystrokes inside its search fields; it does not change your operating system's keyboard layout. If you use a system-level Daqian IME, you may not need this option at all, since the IME already converts your input before the game sees it.
