Fixing JEI Search Conflicts and Enabling Force Quote

When JEI and the Mod Fight Over Input

Some players find that typing in the JEI search bar behaves oddly — characters get eaten, the search resets, or Pinyin input does not register at all. This usually happens when another mod or your input method is also intercepting keystrokes in the search field. The mod ships with an option specifically for this situation.

Turning On EnableForceQuote

Open the mod's config file. It is a plain text file, so any text editor works. Find the option named EnableForceQuote and set it to true. Save the file and restart the game so the change takes effect.

With this option enabled, the mod forces the search field to treat your typed text literally rather than letting other handlers reinterpret it. After restarting, test by typing a short Pinyin query such as st in JEI. If results appear, the conflict is resolved.

If problems persist, try disabling other search-altering mods one at a time to isolate the culprit, and make sure your IME is not in a composing state when you click into the search bar. Toggling the option back off is safe if it does not help.
