How do I open the recipe book with Just Enough Book installed?
Press the recipe book button (default key varies by version, usually bound in your controls) or use the vanilla recipe book keybind. Just Enough Book adds tooltips to the vanilla recipe book interface, so you access it the same way you normally would.
Why isn't the tooltip showing up when I hover over an item?
Make sure you're hovering over the item icon itself in the recipe book, not just anywhere on the screen. The tooltip only appears when your cursor is directly over a recipe result or ingredient that has crafting information available.
Can I see recipes for items that have multiple crafting methods?
Yes. When an item has multiple recipes, the tooltip will indicate this, and you can navigate between different recipe pages using the navigation controls shown in the tooltip.
How do I search for what recipes use a specific item as an ingredient?
Use the search function in the vanilla recipe book to find the item, then hover over it to see its tooltip. The tooltip shows what the item crafts into, and you can navigate to see recipes that use it as an ingredient.
What do the different symbols or layouts in the tooltip mean?
The tooltip displays a small crafting grid showing ingredient positions and the result. The layout matches the actual crafting recipe, so you can see at a glance how ingredients should be arranged on your crafting table.
Is Just Enough Book compatible with Just Enough Items (JEI)?
Just Enough Book is designed as a lightweight alternative to JEI, not as an addon for it. You can run either mod independently, but running both together may cause redundant recipe information or UI conflicts.
Does this mod work with modded recipes and items?
Yes. Just Enough Book displays recipes for any items added by other mods, as long as those recipes are registered in the vanilla recipe system.
Why is the tooltip so small I can barely read it?
