Just Another Void Dimension Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get to the void dimension?
Craft the mod's portal block, place it down, and right-click it while holding an Ender Pearl. You'll be teleported straight into your own empty void dimension.
How do I get back to the Overworld from the void?
Use the same portal block in the void dimension the way you used it in the Overworld—right-click it with an Ender Pearl. If you didn't bring a portal block or Ender Pearls with you, you'll be stuck, so always carry a return setup.
I right-clicked the block and nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?
You must be holding an Ender Pearl in your hand when you right-click the block. Right-clicking with an empty hand or another item won't teleport you.
Do I need to build a full portal frame like the Nether?
No. This mod doesn't use a frame—you just place the single portal block and activate it with an Ender Pearl. There's no obsidian or flint and steel involved.
How do I change the size or material of the platform that spawns in the void?
The platform is controlled through the mod's config file, where you can set its size and which block material it's made of. Edit the config before entering, since the platform generates when you arrive.
Can I sleep in the void dimension?
By default sleeping in the void may be disabled, but there's a config option to allow it. Enable that setting in the config file if you want to use beds there.
Is the void dimension shared with other players on my server?
Each player gets their own personal void dimension, so your builds won't overlap with anyone else's. This makes it handy for private storage or creative projects.
I fell off the platform and now I'm falling forever. How do I fix this?
There's nothing to land on in the void, so falling means you'll keep dropping until you die or teleport out. Keep your portal block and Ender Pearls in your hotbar, or enable a config option that keeps you safe if one exists.
Does this mod work with other dimension or worldgen mods?
It generally coexists with other mods since it adds its own separate dimension, but conflicts can happen with mods that heavily alter dimension registration or teleportation. If something breaks, test with only this mod loaded to isolate the issue.
Will having a void dimension hurt my server's performance?
The dimension is empty, so it generates almost nothing and has very little performance impact. The main cost is the per-player dimension instances if many players each have one, but it's still lightweight compared to normal worldgen.
