How to Jump Over Fences and Walls in Minecraft with the Jump Over Fences Mod

The basic jump

With the mod installed, you no longer need a fence gate or a stack of blocks to cross a fence. Walk up to the fence so you are standing right next to it, then jump as you normally would. The mod raises your jump just enough to clear the top of the fence, so you land on the other side in one motion.

You do not need to sprint, though sprinting can help you carry momentum across wider setups. A plain standing jump next to the fence is usually enough for a single fence line.

What counts as jumpable

Any block that extends the vanilla FenceBlock or WallBlock class is affected. That means the standard wooden fence types, nether brick fences, and cobblestone walls all become hoppable. Because the mod hooks into those base classes, fences and walls added by other mods that reuse the same classes will also work without any extra setup.

Tips for smooth movement

  • Approach the fence head-on rather than at a sharp angle so you clear it cleanly.
  • If you are carrying a full inventory or moving slowly, still jump directly beside the fence; the height boost is applied to your normal jump.
  • In single-player you can use this immediately after installing, since no server-side component is required.
