Jump Over Fences Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I jump over a fence with this mod?
Just walk up to the fence and press your jump key like you would on flat ground. If your jump height clears the fence, you'll hop right over it instead of bumping into it.
Does this mod work on walls too, or only fences?
It works on anything extending the FenceBlock or WallBlock class, so vanilla walls, nether brick fences, and most modded fences and walls are covered. If a block is coded as a fence or wall, you should be able to leap it.
Why can't I jump over my fence even with the mod installed?
The most common cause is that the fence is too tall for your current jump height, such as stacked fences or fences with blocks on top. Check that you're not sneaking, since sneaking disables the jump, and confirm the mod is actually loaded.
Do I need to install anything on the server to use this?
No server installation is required, which makes it simple for single-player. On multiplayer, the behavior depends on whether the server allows client-side movement mods, so check with the server owner if jumps don't register.
Can I jump over fences while sprinting?
Yes, sprinting into a jump works and is the fastest way to cross fence lines in a field. Just make sure you have enough run-up so your jump arc clears the fence rather than clipping the top.
Does this mod let me jump over fences in parkour maps?
Yes, any fence or wall in a parkour course becomes jumpable, so you can design routes that use fences as low obstacles instead of dead ends. Keep in mind players without the mod won't be able to make those jumps.
Will this mod break my existing farms or animal pens?
No, it only changes whether players can jump over fences and walls, not how fences behave as blocks. Mobs and animals still can't pass through, so your pens stay secure.
Can I jump over fences while riding a horse or other mount?
Jumping over fences is a player movement feature, so it applies to you on foot. Mounted jumping follows the mount's own jump mechanics, which this mod doesn't change.
Does the mod affect performance or cause lag?
It's a lightweight movement tweak with no world generation or ticking overhead, so it shouldn't noticeably affect performance. If you do see issues, check for conflicts with other movement or parkour mods.
Is this mod compatible with other movement mods?
It generally coexists with movement mods, but mods that also alter jump height or collision with fences can conflict. If jumps stop working, try testing with only this mod enabled to isolate the culprit.
