Setting Up a Redstone-Controlled Jukebox With Custom Discs

What Changes With This Mod

Normally you might time a jukebox with a redstone pulse matching the vanilla disc length. With custom discs and this fix, playback lasts as long as the disc is inside, so your redstone should control *insertion and removal*, not a timer.

Basic Setup

1. Place a jukebox where you want the music.

2. Put a hopper feeding into the jukebox so it can insert the custom disc, and a second hopper (or the same line reversed) able to pull the disc back out.

3. Use a lever, button, or pressure plate to power the hoppers. Powering the insert hopper drops the disc in and starts playback; powering the removal path pulls it out and stops playback.

4. Test by toggling: the music should start when the disc enters and stop the moment it leaves.

Tips

  • Keep the disc in a chest next to the input hopper so it can be re-inserted repeatedly.
  • Avoid stacking multiple discs in the jukebox; only one plays at a time.
