Jukebox Custom Disc Fix Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I install a custom music disc in a jukebox so it plays the whole track?
Just right-click the jukebox with your custom disc like any vanilla disc. With this mod installed, playback continues until the disc is removed instead of stopping when the vanilla disc duration would have ended.
Why does my custom disc still stop early even with the mod?
The mod only fixes the vanilla cutoff tied to the original disc's length; if your track is being cut off, the disc's own sound event or resource pack definition is likely the problem. Check that the disc's sound file and sounds.json entry are correct and that no other mod is overriding jukebox behavior.
How do I stop a custom disc that's playing in a jukebox?
You can either right-click the jukebox to eject the disc, or pull the disc out with a hopper. Playback stops as soon as the disc leaves the jukebox.
Does the jukebox keep playing after the disc is removed?
No. The mod changes when playback ends, not whether removal stops it. Once the disc is ejected by a player or extracted by a hopper, the music stops immediately.
Can I use a hopper to take the disc out while it's still playing?
Yes, a hopper beneath or beside the jukebox can pull the disc out mid-playback, and the sound will stop at that moment. This is the intended way to end a custom track automatically.
How do I make a redstone-controlled jukebox that plays custom discs?
Power the jukebox with a redstone signal to eject the disc, and use a hopper to feed discs in. The mod doesn't change redstone behavior, so standard jukebox redstone rules still apply.
Does this mod work on a server, or only in singleplayer?
It works on both, but the fix needs to be present on the server for multiplayer worlds. If only the client has it, other players may still hear the vanilla cutoff behavior.
Is this mod compatible with other jukebox or music mods?
It generally works alongside mods that add custom discs, since it only patches the vanilla cutoff logic. Mods that fully replace the jukebox block or its sound handling may conflict, so test them together.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
No, it's a small fix that only changes when jukebox playback ends. It doesn't add ticking logic or extra sound processing, so performance impact is negligible.
Do I need to do anything special after installing the mod for it to work?
No setup is required. Once installed, any custom disc placed in a jukebox will play until removed, with no config or commands needed.
