How to Play a Custom Music Disc in a Jukebox Without It Cutting Off Early
The Problem This Mod Solves
In vanilla Minecraft, a jukebox stops playing when the *vanilla* disc's length runs out, even if the disc actually inserted is a custom one with a longer track. This mod (fixing MC-260346) makes the jukebox keep playing until the disc is actually removed.
Steps to Play a Custom Disc
1. Make sure the mod is loaded on both the client and the server (or in singleplayer). Custom discs are usually added by a resource pack or another mod, so confirm the disc item exists in your inventory.
2. Place a jukebox and right-click it with the custom disc in hand. The disc should insert and playback should begin.
3. Let the track run. With this fix installed, the music will not be cut off when the vanilla disc duration would have ended — it continues for the full custom track length.
4. To stop playback, right-click the jukebox again to eject the disc, or let a hopper pull it out. Playback ends only when the disc leaves the jukebox.
If It Still Cuts Off
- Confirm the custom disc is actually being recognized (you should hear its audio, not silence).
- Check that no other mod is overriding jukebox behavior.
- Verify the server and client have matching mod versions so the fix applies on both sides.
