Troubleshoot the Web Map Not Loading or Updating

Common Connection Problems

If your web map won't load or appears blank:

1. Verify Minecraft is running — The web server only operates while the game is active. Launch Minecraft and load a world

2. Check the correct address — Confirm you're using your computer's actual local IP address, not localhost from a different device

3. Restart the browser — Close and reopen your browser tab, then refresh the page

4. Firewall settings — Temporarily disable your firewall to test if it's blocking the connection. If it works, add an exception for the web map port

Map Not Updating in Real-Time

If the map loads but doesn't reflect your current position:

• Refresh the browser page manually
• Check that JourneyMap itself is functioning in-game (verify waypoints appear in your map)
• Ensure the web map addon is properly installed alongside JourneyMap
• Try closing and reopening the browser tab

If problems persist, verify both devices remain on the same network and that no network changes occurred (like switching WiFi networks).
