How to Create, Name and Manage Waypoints in JourneyMap
Making a waypoint
Open the full-screen map and find the spot you want to mark. Use the create waypoint action (a button on the map screen or its assigned key) to drop a marker at that location. A small dialog appears where you type a name, pick a colour, and choose an icon. Give it something memorable like "Home" or "Diamond Mine" so it is easy to spot later.
Editing and organising
- Click an existing waypoint on the map to open its options. From there you can rename it, change its colour or icon, or move it to a new position.
- Waypoints can be grouped into sets, so you can show or hide whole categories at once — handy if you have dozens of them.
- You can toggle whether a waypoint shows on the minimap, the full-screen map, or both.
Practical uses
Drop a waypoint at your base before a long expedition so you can find your way back. Mark villages, strongholds, and biome borders you want to revisit. JourneyMap also creates automatic waypoints for your world spawn and, if enabled, for the place where you last died — that death marker is one of the fastest ways to recover your items. Delete waypoints you no longer need from the same edit menu to keep the map tidy.
