How to Configure the JourneyMap Minimap Position and Appearance
Moving and resizing the minimap
The minimap sits in a corner of your screen by default. Open the JourneyMap options menu (usually from the full-screen map or a keybind) and look for the minimap settings. There you can choose which corner it occupies, how large it is, and whether it is round or square. If the minimap overlaps another mod's HUD, moving it to a different corner or shrinking it usually solves the clash.
Choosing what it shows
- Orientation: pick whether the map rotates with your view (north always up, or your facing direction always up). Players who get disoriented often prefer north-up.
- Zoom: set how much area the minimap covers. A wider zoom is good for spotting terrain, a tighter one for close navigation.
- Entities: toggle whether nearby mobs, players, and animals appear as dots on the minimap.
- Coordinates: enable an on-screen coordinate readout so you can note your position without opening the full map.
Hiding it when you need to
If you want a clean screen for screenshots or building, you can hide the minimap entirely with its toggle key, then bring it back the same way. All of these settings are saved per world, so a change you make in one save does not affect another.
