How to Read Block and Container Tooltips with Jade

Looking at Blocks

Aim your crosshair at any block and hold it there briefly. Jade renders a small panel near the top of the screen showing the block's name and, depending on the block, extra data. For a chest, hopper, barrel, or similar container, the tooltip lists the items inside along with their counts, so you can inspect storage without opening it.

Special Block Info

Different blocks expose different providers. A brewing stand shows its fuel level and brewing progress. A furnace-like block shows its current state. When you are mining, Jade displays the block-breaking progress so you can see how close a block is to popping. If a block is part of a mod, the tooltip may include the mod name unless you have hidden mod names in the config.

Practical Uses

Use container previews to sort your base without opening every chest, or to check a hopper's contents while debugging a farm. Point at a block before mining to confirm it is the one you want, especially with similar-looking modded blocks. If a particular provider is noisy, disable just that category in the config rather than turning Jade off entirely. The overlay follows your crosshair, so simply look away to dismiss it.
