Ixeris Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I know if Ixeris is actually running?
Check your mod list in-game to confirm Ixeris is loaded and enabled. Because it's a client-side mod, it won't appear on servers or in multiplayer logs, so the mod list is your main confirmation.
Do I need to configure anything for Ixeris to work?
No, Ixeris works out of the box once installed. There are no toggles or settings you need to change for it to start moving event polling off the render thread.
Why does Ixeris help more on Windows than on Linux?
The mod targets the way GLFW event polling interacts with the render thread, and that bottleneck is more pronounced on Windows. On Linux and macOS the same polling behavior exists but the performance impact is usually smaller.
Will Ixeris fix low FPS in general, or only stuttering?
Ixeris targets frame consistency, not raw FPS ceilings. If your average FPS is low for other reasons like render distance or shaders, Ixeris won't raise it, but it can smooth out the dips caused by
camera movement.
camera movement.Does Ixeris work on servers or is it client-only?
It's strictly client-side, so you only need it on your own game. Servers don't need to install it, and other players won't be affected by whether you have it.
Can Ixeris conflict with Sodium, Lithium, or other performance mods?
Ixeris addresses a different bottleneck than rendering or game-logic optimizers, so it generally coexists with them. If you see odd behavior, test with only Ixeris enabled to isolate the cause.
Why don't I see any improvement after installing Ixeris?
The mod's benefit scales with how much time your system spends polling input events, so low-polling-rate mice and already-smooth setups may see little change. It also won't help if your stutter comes from chunk loading, garbage collection, or shader compilation.
Does Ixeris help with a high polling rate mouse?
Yes, that's one of its main targets. High polling rate mice generate more input events per frame, and Ixeris keeps that polling from blocking the render thread, which reduces the stutter those events can cause.
Will Ixeris break GLFW or cause crashes?
The mod is designed to stay within GLFW's thread safety rules, so it shouldn't cause crashes on its own. If you do crash, check for other mods that also touch input or rendering before blaming Ixeris.
Do I still need Ixeris if I already cap my FPS?
FPS caps limit how often frames are drawn but don't change how input polling is scheduled, so Ixeris can still help. The two address different parts of the frame pipeline.
