Maximize Light Source Colors and Shadows

Understand Block-Specific Light Colors

IterationVX Shaders assigns unique colors to different light sources. Torches emit warm orange-yellow light, soul lanterns cast blue light, and other glowing blocks produce their own hues. This colored lighting automatically affects nearby blocks and surfaces without requiring any configuration.

Position Light Sources for Best Shadow Effects

Place torches and lamps at varied heights and angles to create layered shadows. Shadows are sharpest and most defined when light sources are positioned at acute angles to surfaces. Experiment with multiple light sources in the same area—their colored light will blend and create dynamic, realistic lighting.

Enhance Reflections on Water and Shiny Blocks

Build near water or use polished stone and other reflective blocks to see path-traced reflections in action. The shader renders accurate reflections of light sources, shadows, and surrounding terrain on these surfaces. Position yourself at different angles to observe how reflections change realistically.
