ItemLocks Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I lock an inventory slot with ItemLocks?
Hold the lock key (default C) and left-click the slot you want to protect. The slot will show a lock indicator so you know it's protected.
How do I unlock a slot I locked by accident?
Hold the unlock key (default B) and left-click the locked slot to remove the lock. You can also use this same keybind to modify which slots are locked.
What does locking a slot actually prevent?
A locked slot prevents you from dropping, moving, or otherwise removing the item from that slot through normal inventory actions. This stops accidental drops, like tossing your best gear into lava.
Can I lock hotbar slots too, or only main inventory slots?
You can lock both hotbar slots and regular inventory slots. Locking a hotbar slot is especially useful for keeping your weapon or tool from being dropped when you press the drop key.
Why can't I drop an item even though the slot doesn't look locked?
Make sure you're not still holding the lock key, and check whether the slot has a lock indicator you may have missed. If the lock is active, hold the unlock key and click the slot to clear it.
Does ItemLocks work in multiplayer servers?
ItemLocks is a client-side mod, so it works on any server as long as the server allows client-side mods. Your locks are stored locally and won't affect other players.
Will locking a slot stop me from using the item in it?
No, locking only prevents the item from being removed or dropped from that slot. You can still use, equip, or interact with the item normally.
Can I change the lock and unlock keybinds?
Yes, both the lock key and unlock key can be rebound in the mod's controls settings. Look for the ItemLocks keybind entries in your controls menu.
Does ItemLocks cause lag or performance issues?
ItemLocks is a lightweight client-side mod and has negligible impact on performance. It only tracks slot lock states and doesn't run heavy background processes.
Do my locked slots stay locked after I close the game or switch worlds?
Lock states are saved per-world or per-server, so your locked slots should persist between sessions. If a lock seems missing after reloading, re-lock the slot with the lock key.
