Item Stat Tracker Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start tracking stats on my tools?
The mod tracks automatically as soon as you use any tool or armor piece in survival mode—there's no setup needed. Just use your pickaxe to mine, your sword to fight, or wear armor, and the statistics will begin recording immediately and appear in the item tooltip.
Why aren't my modded tools showing stats?
The mod only tracks tools and armor that follow vanilla Minecraft rules and mechanics. If a modded tool uses a completely custom system, it may not be compatible; check that the modded tool inherits from standard Minecraft tool classes.
Do stats reset when I die?
No, stats are permanently stored on the item itself and persist even after death, as long as you recover the item. If the item is lost or destroyed, its statistics are lost with it.
Can I see stats for tools in my Ender Chest or other storage?
Yes, you can hover over any tool or armor piece in any inventory screen—including Ender Chests, shulker boxes, and item frames—to view its tracked statistics.
Does the mod track damage on tools like pickaxes?
No, the mod tracks usage actions (blocks mined, mobs killed, distance traveled) rather than durability damage. For armor, it tracks total damage absorbed, not durability loss.
What counts as a 'block mined' for pickaxes and shovels?
Any block you successfully break with the tool counts toward the total, including stone, ore, dirt, and other materials the tool can harvest. The counter increments once per block destroyed.
How does mob kill tracking work with different weapons?
The mod counts a kill whenever a mob dies from damage dealt by your weapon—swords, axes, tridents, bows, crossbows, and other tracked weapons each maintain their own kill counter on the item.
Does armor stat tracking work in Creative mode?
The mod is designed for survival mode and may not track stats reliably in Creative mode; use survival mode for accurate statistics.
Can I copy stats from one tool to another?
No, stats are tied directly to each individual item and cannot be transferred or copied to another tool through normal gameplay.
Does this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is lightweight and tracks stats passively without requiring constant updates or calculations, so it should have minimal impact on performance in most setups.
