Planning Your Labels

Use Item Signs Mod to mark what's stored in nearby chests without expensive item frames.

1. Identify your storage chests and what they contain

2. Gather signs (any wood type) and sample items from each storage category

3. Place signs on the wall or on top of chests near your storage area

Setting Up Labels

1. Position a sign next to or above each chest

2. Sneak and right-click the sign while holding a representative item (e.g., hold wheat for a food storage chest)

3. The item will display on the sign as a visual indicator

4. Repeat for all storage chests

Tips

Use different wood types for visual organization. Place signs at eye level for easy reading. You can label multiple chests in a row by spacing signs evenly. This creates a clear, organized storage system without the crafting cost of item frames.
