Recipe Viewer Compatibility

Item Overlay Border Mod works alongside popular recipe viewers: JEI, REI, and EMI. When you open any of these mods' interfaces, rarity-colored borders appear around item icons just as they do in your inventory.

When browsing recipes or searching for items, colored borders help you instantly identify which results are rare or valuable. This is especially useful when comparing similar items or deciding which version of a tool to craft or use.

How to Use

Simply open your recipe viewer as normal. No additional configuration is needed. Items above Common rarity will display their colored borders automatically. Borders respect your animation settings—if you've disabled animation in the config, borders will be static in recipe viewers too.

Consistent Across Tools

Whether you're using JEI's item index, REI's search, or EMI's recipe browser, the rarity border system works the same way. This consistency helps you quickly learn which items matter most without switching between different visual styles.
