Isocraft Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I turn on isometric mode?
Press the isometric view toggle key (default is a configurable hotkey in your controls menu) to switch between isometric and normal Minecraft view. You can toggle back and forth at any time without restarting your game.
How do I move around in isometric mode?
Hold down the right mouse button and move your cursor to where you want to walk—your character will move toward that point. Release the button to stop, just like in classic top-down action RPGs.
Can I use isometric mode on multiplayer servers?
Yes, the mod is entirely client-side, so other players won't see any difference and you won't cause issues on any server. It's purely a visual and control change for your own game.
Why can't I see inside buildings or caves?
The mod automatically hides walls and ceilings that block your view when you enter enclosed spaces. This is intentional—it keeps your view clear so you can see enemies and navigate easily.
How do I use the bridge assist tool?
Equip the bridge assist tool from your inventory and aim at the hidden side of a ledge or block edge. It lets you place blocks on surfaces you normally couldn't reach without falling off.
What happens to trees and hills when they're in the way?
Trees and hills automatically become transparent or fade out when they block the camera's view of your character, so you can always see what you're doing.
Can I still use my keyboard to move (WASD)?
The mod is designed around mouse-directed walking, but you can switch back to normal view at any time to use traditional WASD movement if needed.
Does isometric mode work with combat?
Yes—the isometric view and mouse aiming work together for action RPG-style combat, letting you aim and attack in the direction you're pointing.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is lightweight and client-side only, so it shouldn't noticeably impact performance on most systems. If you experience issues, try toggling the mod off to compare.
Can I customize the camera angle or zoom level?
Check your mod settings or config file for camera customization options—many isometric mods allow you to adjust the angle and distance to suit your preference.
