Using Scroll Descriptions to Plan Spell Loadouts

Plan Before You Equip

Scroll descriptions let you build a loadout on paper first. Open your inventory, hover each candidate scroll, and write down its role. Then decide which slots go to damage, which to defense, and which to mobility. This avoids the common mistake of equipping a scroll, discovering it does something unexpected, and wasting a slot mid-fight.

Step-by-Step Loadout Building

1. List the encounters you expect: cave mobs, a boss, or open-world travel.

2. Hover your scrolls and pick one area-damage option, one single-target option, and one defensive or escape option.

3. Fill remaining slots with utility scrolls whose descriptions mention healing, summoning, or movement.

4. Equip them and test in a low-risk area before a real fight.

Adjusting After Testing

After a fight, revisit your inventory and re-read the tooltips of scrolls you did not use. If a description reveals an effect you overlooked, swap it in. Because the addon shows effects without equipping, you can iterate on a loadout entirely from the inventory screen. Keep a storage chest of 'maybe' scrolls sorted by role so future swaps are fast. This workflow keeps your active spellbook lean and matched to the content you are actually running.
