How to Use the Inventory Sorter Mod

Sorting and Moving Items

The Inventory Sorter Mod adds two simple controls to Minecraft. To sort a container, press the middle mouse button while the inventory is open. Items are grouped by their registry name and arranged from the highest count to the lowest. This works with chests, your player inventory, and hoppers.

To move items between inventories, use the scroll wheel. Scrolling moves a single item at a time from one inventory to the other, letting you transfer items precisely without shift-clicking stacks.

Because the mod delegates all sorting work to the server rather than the client, it stays fast and reliable. It requires installation on both the client and the server to function. It also tries to respect slot rules such as canExtract and isItemValid, avoiding slots marked that way. Bedrock and Minecraft PE players need a separate addon instead, since this mod is for Java Edition.
