Troubleshoot items not repairing

Verify items have Mending

Check that your tools and armor actually have the Mending enchantment applied. Hover over items in your inventory to see their enchantments. Items without Mending won't repair through this mod.

Confirm items are damaged

Mending only repairs damaged items. If your gear is at full durability, it won't consume XP. Damage your tools by using them, then gain XP to see repairs begin.

Check inventory space and placement

Ensure Mending items are in your main inventory, not in offhand, armor slots only, or dropped on the ground. The mod scans your inventory for eligible items—they must be present to repair.

Verify you're gaining XP

Make sure you're actually earning experience. Mine blocks, defeat mobs, smelt items, or use other XP sources. Without XP generation, nothing repairs. Watch for the XP bar filling at the bottom of your screen.

Review mod compatibility

If repairs still aren't happening, check whether other mods conflict with Mending behavior. Disable other mods temporarily to isolate the issue, or consult your mod's documentation for known incompatibilities.
