Inventory Mending Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I get Mending items to work with this mod?
Obtain the Mending enchantment on any tool, weapon, or armor piece through enchanting, fishing, or trading. Once equipped or in your inventory, any experience orbs you collect will automatically repair that item along with other Mending items in your inventory.
Does this mod repair items in my inventory automatically or do I need to do something?
Repairs happen automatically whenever you collect experience orbs—you don't need to manually swap items or do anything special. The mod distributes XP among all eligible Mending items in your inventory.
Can I control which items repair first?
Yes, the mod typically prioritizes items with the lowest durability first, ensuring your most damaged gear gets repaired before less damaged items. Check your mod's configuration file if you want to adjust this priority behavior.
What items can be repaired by this mod?
Any item with the Mending enchantment can be repaired, including tools, weapons, and armor pieces. Items without Mending won't be affected, even if they're in your inventory.
Does Mending still work on the item I'm holding?
Yes, the item in your hand is still repaired normally. This mod simply extends Mending to also repair other eligible items in your inventory at the same time.
Can I combine Mending with other enchantments?
Yes, Mending works alongside other enchantments like Unbreaking, Efficiency, or Protection without conflict. Unbreaking reduces durability loss, while Mending repairs the remaining damage using XP.
Why aren't my items repairing even though I have Mending?
Make sure the item actually has the Mending enchantment (check in your inventory tooltip), that you're collecting experience orbs, and that the item isn't at full durability. If still broken, check that the mod is enabled in your mod loader.
Does this mod work with other mods that change XP or Mending?
Generally yes, but conflicts can occur with mods that heavily modify experience mechanics or Mending behavior. If you experience issues, try removing conflicting mods or check the mod's documentation for known incompatibilities.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is lightweight and shouldn't cause noticeable lag, as it simply redirects XP that would normally repair one item to repair multiple items. Performance impact is minimal even with many Mending items in your inventory.
Can I disable this mod for specific items or situations?
Check your mod's configuration file for options to blacklist certain items or disable the feature temporarily. Some versions may allow you to toggle the mod on and off without uninstalling it.
