Inventory Management Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I sort my inventory with this mod?
Open your inventory and click the sort button that appears in the interface. Your items get rearranged alphabetically, but your hotbar stays untouched so your quick-access items don't move.
Why isn't my hotbar being sorted?
That's intentional. The mod excludes the hotbar from sorting so your tools, food, and blocks stay where you put them. If you want the hotbar sorted too, you'd need to move items into the main inventory first.
How do I transfer everything from my inventory to a chest at once?
Open the chest while your inventory is also visible, then click the transfer button. All items move from your inventory into the chest in one action instead of dragging stacks one by one.
Can I move items from a chest back into my inventory in one click?
Yes. The transfer button works both ways — clicking it while a container is open moves items between your inventory and that container. The direction depends on which side the button is on.
The sort button isn't showing up, what's wrong?
Make sure the mod is actually loaded and that you're looking at a vanilla-style inventory screen. Some modded inventory screens or UI overhauls can hide or replace the button, so try disabling other inventory mods to test.
Does sorting also sort my hotbar?
No. Sorting only affects the main inventory grid, not the hotbar. This is by design so your quick-access items don't get shuffled around mid-fight.
Will this mod work with other inventory mods like JEI or REI?
It generally coexists with recipe viewers like JEI and REI since those add overlays rather than replacing the inventory screen. Conflicts are more likely with mods that fully redesign the inventory UI.
Can I sort chests and other containers too, or just my inventory?
The sort and transfer features work on containers you open, such as chests and barrels, not just your player inventory. The same button appears in the container screen.
Does the mod cause lag or performance issues?
Sorting and transferring are lightweight operations that only run when you click the button, so they shouldn't affect normal gameplay performance. If you notice lag, it's more likely from another mod or a large number of items being moved at once.
Can I undo a sort if I don't like the result?
There's no built-in undo for sorting, so the arrangement is permanent once you click. If you rely on a specific layout, keep those items in your hotbar or a separate container before sorting.
