Inventive Inventory Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I sort my inventory?
Press R (the default Sorting Key) while your inventory is open, and all items will automatically organize themselves. You can rebind this key in your mod settings if needed.
What's the difference between the Sorting Key and Advanced Operation Key?
The Sorting Key (R) triggers inventory organization. The Advanced Operation Key (Alt) is used to modify other actions, like locking slots or triggering auto-refill when your stack runs out.
How do I keep certain items from being sorted?
Hold Alt (Advanced Operation Key) and click on the slot containing the item you want to protect. Locked slots will be skipped during sorting and their items won't move.
Can I lock multiple slots at once?
You must lock each slot individually by Alt-clicking them one at a time. There is no multi-select locking feature.
How does auto-refill work?
When you use the last item in a stack, hold Alt while using it, and the mod will automatically refill that slot with more of the same item from your inventory if available. This works with blocks, water buckets, potions, and soups.
Can I save my inventory layout?
Yes, press Ctrl to save your current inventory as a profile, then use Alt to load it back later. You can store up to 9 different profiles using number keys 1-9.
What happens to my locked slots when I sort?
Locked slots stay exactly where they are and are completely ignored by the sorting function. Only unlocked slots will be reorganized.
Does sorting work on chests and other containers?
Yes, you can sort any container you have open by pressing R, just like you would with your main inventory.
Will this mod slow down my game?
The mod is designed to be lightweight and should have minimal performance impact. Sorting happens instantly when you press the keybind.
Can I customize the keybinds?
Yes, you can rebind the Sorting Key, Advanced Operation Key, Profile Save Key, Profile Load Key, and individual profile slots in your mod configuration settings.
