How to Use the Improved Jigsaw Manager for Multi-Piece Structures
What the Jigsaw Manager Does
Jigsaw structures are built from multiple template pieces connected by jigsaw blocks — think villages or bastions. Integrated API replaces the vanilla jigsaw manager with a custom, improved version that gives you more control over how pieces connect and expand.
Building a Multi-Piece Structure
1. Create each piece as its own structure template (nbt file) and place jigsaw blocks where pieces should connect.
2. On each jigsaw block, set the target pool — the template pool the connecting piece should be pulled from.
3. Define your template pools in JSON, listing the pieces and their weights.
4. Create a start pool and a start piece; the jigsaw manager begins generation from there and expands outward.
5. Register the structure using Integrated API's structure type so the custom manager handles it.
Controlling Expansion
The improved manager respects the configuration options you set in the structure JSON, so you can influence how deep the structure grows and how pieces are chosen. Test with /place structure to spawn your structure directly and inspect the connections. If pieces fail to link, check that jigsaw target names match the pool names exactly and that every referenced pool actually exists.
