Integrated API Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
What does Integrated API actually do if I install it on its own?
On its own it adds no blocks, items, or world content — it's a shared library that provides structure types, data abstractions, math utilities, and an improved jigsaw manager for the Integrated Structures series. You install it so that mods depending on it can load and so you get the expanded structure block limit and extra structure JSON options.
Do I need Integrated API installed to run other Integrated Structures mods?
Yes — it's a required dependency for the Integrated Structures series, so any of those mods will fail to load or crash without it. Keep it in your mods folder alongside the structure mods it supports.
How do I raise the structure block size limit above 48 blocks?
Integrated API expands the structure block limit from 48 to 256, so you can save and load much larger builds directly in the structure block UI. Just place a structure block, set your corner and size within the new limit, and save as usual — no config change is needed for the limit itself.
How do I add cartographer map trades for my own custom structures?
Integrated API provides easy-to-use cartographer map trade support, so you register your structure as a map target and the cartographer villager can then sell an explorer map pointing to it. Check the structure JSON options for the trade entry rather than editing villager code.
Where do I put the new structure JSON options — in the structure file or a config?
They go in the structure's own JSON file, not in a global config. Integrated API adds a large set of configuration options to structure JSON, so you edit the structure definition to control things like map trades and jigsaw behavior.
What is the improved jigsaw manager and why should I use it over vanilla?
It's a custom replacement for vanilla's jigsaw assembly that handles multi-piece structures more reliably. Use it when your structure has several connected pieces and vanilla jigsaw placement is producing broken or misaligned layouts.
My custom structure isn't generating — what's the most common mistake?
Usually the structure JSON is missing a required field or references a structure type that isn't registered through Integrated API. Double-check that your structure type and any map trade entries match the names you actually defined.
Can I use Integrated API with mods that aren't part of Integrated Structures?
It's primarily a library for the Integrated Structures series, so other mods generally won't use its utilities unless they're built against it. It won't conflict with unrelated mods, but don't expect it to change their structures.
Will Integrated API hurt my performance or world load times?
It's a lightweight library, so the math utilities and data abstractions add negligible overhead. The main cost comes from the structures you build with it — very large multi-piece structures using the jigsaw manager will naturally take longer to generate.
Do I need to configure anything after installing Integrated API?
No — it works out of the box with sensible defaults, and its features are opt-in per structure through structure JSON. Only touch configuration if you want to change behavior for a specific structure you're making.
