How to Configure Structure JSON Options Added by Integrated API

Where the Options Live

Integrated API adds a large set of configuration options to structure JSON files. These let you control how your structure generates without writing custom Java code. You edit them in the structure's JSON file inside your mod or datapack.

Common Configuration Categories

  • Placement and spacing: control how far apart instances generate and how likely each attempt is to succeed.
  • Biome and dimension restrictions: limit where the structure can appear.
  • Terrain adaptation: options for how the structure handles uneven ground, water, or existing blocks.
  • Jigsaw behavior: settings that feed into the improved jigsaw manager, such as pool selection and expansion behavior.

How to Edit Safely

1. Locate the structure JSON in your datapack's worldgen/structure folder (or the mod's data folder).

2. Add or adjust the Integrated API options inside the structure's configuration object.

3. Keep a backup before editing — a malformed JSON will silently prevent the structure from loading.

4. Reload with /reload for datapacks, or restart the game for mod-bundled files.

5. Test generation in a fresh world using /locate to confirm the structure still spawns.

Start with one option at a time so you can tell which change caused any generation problem.
